First View to MIRSANU IPO CHALLENGE 2022. Loredana Chitu, Partner, Head of Capital Markets, Dentons Bucharest: IPO pipeline looks promising and we see investors being interested in several Romanian growth stories, both private and State-owned businesses

Despite a pandemic 2021 and the current challenging geo-political context, there is optimism as regards the Romanian capital markets’ potential to develop, said Loredana Chitu, Partner, Head of Capital Markets, Dentons Bucharest.

“While initially being used locally mainly as an exit route for majority shareholders, IPOs are more and more seen as the viable financing option that they are. Pipeline looks promising and we see investors being interested in several Romanian growth stories, both private and State-owned businesses”, she added.

“It is usually said that preparation for „being public” is just as important as preparation for „going public”. The equity story carefully drafted and told in the IPO needs to hold water once trading occurs, and the last two years have been interesting in this respect, since they offered a couple of stress tests for some factors that underlie the ability of a listed company to grow and to create or enhance shareholder value.”, said Loredana Chitu from the global law firm Dentons.

Loredana Chitu, Partner, Head of Capital Markets, Dentons Bucharest, is one of the speakers of MIRSANU IPO CHALLENGE 2022 in the panel Equity stories. Growth stories.
