Tiberiu Danetiu, Member of the Executive Board and Director of Institutional Affairs & Retail Media at Auchan Romania, is one of the speakers of MIRSANU INVESTORS SUMMIT 2026.
Holding a PhD in Economics and bringing over 25 years of experience in retail and marketing, Tiberiu has played a key role in the launch of two major retail chains in Romania, Auchan and Cora, and in the transformation of Auchan Retail Romania into the multi-format, omnichannel, digitally enabled company it is today, operating more than 500 stores nationwide.
As a member of the Executive Board of Auchan Romania and Marketing Director, he was responsible for the company’s brand strategy and overall marketing mix from the opening of Auchan in Romania in 2006 until 2024. As Innovation and Customer Director, he led the development of the company’s e-commerce platform, auchan.ro, as well as its loyalty program and customer data ecosystem, Data Auchan.
As Director of Institutional Affairs, Tiberiu Danetiu represents the company in its relationships with key institutional stakeholders, including the Presidency, the Government, public authorities, industry federations and associations. He also oversees the company’s activities in the areas of public affairs, public relations, media relations, events, and sponsorships.
As Director of Retail Media, his second area of responsibility, Tiberiu Danetiu launched the first retail media initiatives on the Romanian market, and in 2021, he launched Romania’s first retail media sales network, Auchan Retail Media, which is now used by over 300 leading companies, both local and international.
Tiberiu Danetiu began his career in academia at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), within the Faculty of Commerce and Marketing, where he taught for nine years. He is the co-author of several marketing textbooks, as well as numerous research papers, studies, and professional articles.
