Marian Dinu is the Country Managing Partner of DLA Piper, global business law firm, in Romania. He is a prominent corporate lawyer, recognized as such by the business community and his peers, ranked Eminent Practitioner Corporate/M&A by Chambers and Partners legal directory 2020.
Marian’s key areas of practice are mergers & acquisitions, private equity and debt offerings, venture capital and competition/antitrust.
With a career spanning more than two decades, he was instrumental in major M&A and capital markets transactions, including the privatizations of Romtelecom and Petrom. From 2005 until 2007, Marian was the General Counsel of Petrom, one of the largest energy companies in Eastern Europe. In this capacity he managed the legal aspects of the exploration and production business of the Company in Romania, Kazakhstan, Russia and the Middle East, including company acquisitions, concession agreements, farm-in agreements, oilfield services agreements such as seismic exploration, drilling etc.
He regularly acts for clients such as Naspers, Diaverum, OMV Petrom, Chevron, Publicis Groupe or Bank Leumi, as well as for PE clients such as Highlander Partners, GED or Abris Capital.
