George Badescu, Executive Director of The Romanian Association of Large Retailers Networks (AMRCR), is one of the speakers of MIRSANU SUSTAINABILITY CHALLENGE 2025.
He is Executive Director of The Romanian Association of Large Retailers Networks (AMRCR) since 2016. Also, in 2025 he became Member of The European Economic and Social Committee.
He graduated from Faculty of Law in Bucharest in 1992, the National School of Political and Administrative Studies – International Relations in 1994 and the College of Europe in Bruges in 1995, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Community Law.
Later George Badescu was editor of Foreign News at Romanian Television – TVR – correspondent in Moscow and Rome. Between 1996 and 2000 he held the position of Corporate Affairs Executive at Philip Morris Romania and from 2000 to 2009 he was Legal Counselor of the US Embassy in Bucharest.
In 2003, he was awarded the Meritorious Honor Award by the US Embassy Romania and the following year, the US Department of Justice presented him with the International Certificate of Appreciation.
