“Whilst ESG considerations are impacting companies from all sectors of economy, energy companies have been at the forefront of many ESG developments. As ESG is not limited to environmental issues, the latest concerns on climate change and decarbonization have put the focus on the companies in the energy sector, which includes some of the largest emitters. Consequently, it appears as mandatory that energy companies integrate ESG into their core functions”, said Dan Ciobanu, Partner Suciu Popa.

“Additionally, in the current context, besides dealing with the challenges of the energy transition, the companies in the energy sector, as well as companies acting in other domains, have been increasingly dealing with the requirements to implement other ESG related matters, such as human rights and social responsibility standards”, he added.

Dan Ciobanu, Partner Suciu Popa, is one of the speakers of THE SUSTAINABILITY CHALLENGE 2022 in the panel Industry & Energy.
